Trama:
Gesù falegname fabbrica croci per i Romani. Rimproverato da Giuda, inizia la predicazione; poi, perchè il suo destino si compia, chiede a Giuda di tradirlo e, sulla croce, ultima tentazione, sogna la vita che avrebbe fatto sposando la Maddalena. Il Cristo di Scorsese è un\'originale creatura di poesia visionaria, un dio fragile e compromesso, estraneo alla vulgata oleografica e alle velleità iconoclaste. Duramente contestato dal Vaticano e dai fondamentalisti cattolici, è uno strepitoso film sul dubbio e sulle possibilità mancate di un destino.
