Il giovane studente Fong Sai-yuk ha un brutto carattere, dato anche dal fatto di sopportare tutte le punizioni che gli vengono inflitte, grazie alla sua forza la quale deriva dall'addestramento a cui fin da piccolo l'ha sottoposto la madre.
Gordon Liu riprende il famoso ruolo del monaco San Te, la storia vera dell'eroe Shaolin che creò la 36a Camera. In questo film si narra anche l'altra storia vera dell'eroe Shaolin Fang Shih-yu, che sembra divertirsi a pestare i piedi ai manciù al momento giusto. Come sempre succede col regista Liu Chia-liang, la scena finale lascia lo spettatore senza fiato e con la bocca aperta per l'ammirazione.
