Accanto a lui, indaffarate nel dietro le quinte della storia, la moglie Clementine (Kristin Scott Thomas) e la segretaria personale Elizabeth Nel (Lily James). Nel cast anche Ben Mendelsohn nei panni dell'amato sovrano Re Giorgio VI, e Ronald Pickup in veste di Primo ministro uscente, Neville Chamberlain.
