Don't Worry, il film diretto da Gus Van Sant e tratto da una storia vera, vede protagonista John Callahan (Joaquin Phoenix), un uomo che ama la vita, dotato di uno humour spesso fuori luogo e con un grave problema di alcolismo.Dopo essere rimasto vittima di un tragico incidente stradale causato da una sbornia notturna, l'ultima cosa che John vuole fare è smettere di bere. Eppure, sebbene controvoglia, accetta di entrare in terapia, incoraggiato dalla sua ragazza (Rooney Mara) e da un carismatico sponsor (Jonah Hill).
In questo contesto, Callahan scopre di avere un grande talento nel disegnare vignette satiriche e irriverenti. Ben presto i suoi lavori vengono pubblicati su un quotidiano, procurandogli un vasto numero di ammiratori in tutto il mondo e regalandogli nuove prospettive di vita.
