Ma la vita dopo il college per le Barden Bellas non è come si aspettavano. Nessuna opportunità di carriera dietro l'angolo, né contratti discografici pronti per essere firmati, o agenti e fan impazziti in fila dietro la porta. Solo cappellini ridicoli e lavori frustranti. Le ragazze della Barden University sono di nuovo allo sbaraglio, e stavolta senza il sostegno del gruppo a cappella a tirarle su di morale. C'è però un'ultima opportunità per riunire la squadra, partire in un tour oltreoceano ed esibirsi di fronte alle truppe americane sparse per il mondo. Anche se le sfidanti imbracciano veri strumenti musicali e sono capitanate dalla talentuosa Calamity (Ruby Rose), le Bellas si dimostreranno ancora una volta all'altezza della sfida.
