Trama
Masters of the Air segue ancora una volta le vicende del secondo conflitto mondiale dalla prospettiva del 100/0 Gruppo Bombardieri della Us Air Force, soprannominato ‘Bloody Hundreth’ – ‘l’insanguinato centesimo’ o ‘il maledetto centesimo’ in italiano – per le grandi perdite di uomini subite sul campo. Basato sul libro di David L. Miller Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany, si concentrerà soprattutto sui bombardamenti sulla Germania nazista. Per gli aviatori a stelle e strisce fu una prova estremamente difficile, tra il gelo dei cieli tedeschi e la mancanza di ossigeno in alta quota. Ma la serie non vuole solamente essere il racconto delle tappe di un conflitto. Al centro della narrazione ci sono le storie e le sofferenze, in primis emotive e psicologiche, dei suoi protagonisti.
