Harry Madox (Johnson) arriva un giorno in una piccola città del Texas. Nessuno sa cosa stia cercando. Però le donne si interessano a lui. Gloria è scura di capelli, molto giovane e con la faccia da ingenua; Dolly invece è alta, bionda e molto sensuale: si contenderanno il bel vagabondo, che nel frattempo si è messo a trafficare con le auto usate. In realtà Harry sta preparando un grosso colpo. Ma anche Dolly e Gloria hanno una loro strategia e lo strano rapporto a tre riserverà molte sorprese. Dennis Hopper, attore e regista del non dimenticato "Easy Rider", propone uno stravolgimento del classico film nero americano adattando un noir di Charles Williams. Il male alla fine non viene vinto, forse perché il bene è difficile da trovare. E gli attori non risparmiano di mostrare le loro preferenze erotiche.
