Quando un gruppo di poliziotti corrotti è ricattato dal cartello della mafia russa per portare a termine una rapina apparentemente impossibile, gli agenti capiscono che l'unico modo per mettere a segno il colpo è causare un 999, il codice usato dalla polizia per segnalare che un agente è stato colpito in azione. Il caos che segue l'uccisione di un polizotto sul campo è il diversivo perfetto di cui hanno bisogno per fare la rapina, ma se abbiano davvero la volontà di uccidere un collega è tutta un'altra storia. Il loro piano viene più stravolto quando l'insospettabile recluta che avevano deciso di sacrificare sventa l'attacco, innescando una frenetica caccia all’uomo e dando il via a un finale ricco d’azione, tradimenti, avidità e vendetta.
