Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones) è un'ex cacciatrice di uragani segnata dall’incontro devastante con un tornado durante i suoi anni al college. Kate, che ora studia i percorsi degli uragani al riparo nel suo ufficio di New York City, viene spinta a tornare in campo dal suo amico Javi per testare un innovativo sistema di tracciamento.
