Il trentacinquenne Johnny è un corriere informatico: un'area del suo cervello, quella dei ricordi d'infanzia, è ora un chip per trasportare dati riservati a pagamento. Vorrebbe finalmente recuperare i suoi ricordi, ma il suo agente Ralfi lo convince, per una forte somma, ad accettare l'ultimo incarico. Si reca a Pechino dove due ex scienziati della multinazionale elvetica Pharmakon lo caricano di una overdose di informazioni, della quale dovrà liberarsi entro 24 ore. Sfuggito ad un agguato guidato dal truce Shinji su commissione della Yazuka si reca a Newark, dove scopre che Ralfi lo ha tradito...
