Trama:
Nella Georgia del 1861, attraverso le peripezie e i matrimoni di un'egocentrica ragazza del Sud, Rossella O'Hara, viene dipinto un affresco melodrammatico ma spettacolare e coinvolgente della guerra di Secessione. Il film ha battuto tutti i record di spettatori paganti nella storia del cinema e continua ad avere grandi ascolti televisivi. La frase che la protagonista pronuncia alla fine del film: "Ci penserò domani. Dopotutto, domani è un altro giorno" è divenuta proverbiale.
