Trama:
Cina, 428 d.C. A un’assassina provetta (Michelle Yeoh) sottrae alla sua banda i resti di un mistico buddista. Secondo la credenza, le spoglie del monaco celano un potente segreto. Lungo il cammino la donna si innamora di un uomo di nome Jiang (Jung Woo-sung), il cui padre è stato ucciso dalla banda di lei. Tra i due fiorisce l’amore, ma le tensioni sorgono non appena comincia a venire alla luce la verità sul passato della donna, ignara della maestria di lui nelle arti marziali. Ben presto nascerà una triangolazione letale tra lei, Jiang e la banda di sicari che vuole recuperare i resti del monaco.
