Dopo avere sottratto un fantastico e sorvegliatissimo tesoro in lingotti d'oro da un palazzo veneziano, Charlie e la sua banda, formata dal complice "interno" Steve, dal genio del computer Lyle, dall'autista Handsome Rob, dall'esperto di esplosivi Left-Ear e dal veterano scassinatore di casseforti John Bridger, devono arrendersi all'evidenza: uno di loro li ha traditi. Altro che dividersi il malloppo! Bisogna prima recuperarlo. Qui entra in scena Stella, una bellissima scassinatrice dai nervi d'acciaio che si unisce a Charlie e alla sua banda per inseguire il traditore in California. Il nuovo piano prevede di manipolare il sistema di controllo del traffico di Los Angeles creando il più gigantesco ingorgo della storia di quella città...
