Arthur Bishop è un "meccanico": un assassino scelto, con un codice molto severo ed un talento unico nell'eliminare in modo impeccabile ogni sua vittima. Ma quando il suo grande amico e mentore Harry viene assassinato, Bishop non può fare a meno di lasciarsi coinvolgere a livello personale. E così stavolta sarà lui a scegliere il suo successivo incarico: trovare i responsabili della morte del suo amico. La missione si fa più complicata quando Steve, il figlio di Harry, gli rivela l'intenzione di vendicare da solo la morte del padre. Bishop ha sempre agito da solo, ma questa volta non può certo voltare le spalle al figlio di Harry.
